ARPA-E:  A new organization, ARPA-E (Advanced Research Projects Agency),  has been created under the Department of Energy to stimulate innovative energy research.  Grant opportunities are regularly announced on their website:  http://arpa-e.energy.gov/ 

 The Federal Department of Treasury is now offering cash back for businesses who invest in renewable energy at their business.  This is not a tax credit but a grant which can be applied for after the project at the above website. www.treas.gov/recovery/1603.shtml

 The Alabama State Energy Office is ADECA (Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs).  They compile and update the status of federal stimulus money dispursments throughout the state.  This information can be found on ADECA's website at:  www.adeca.alabama.gov/C4/ARRA

 The Clean Energy Forum is an NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) sponsored event that helps those trying to find investor money.  The next event is October 19-21, 2010 in Denver, Colorado.  Information on the Clean Energy Forum can be found at:   www.cleanenergyforum.com

 Clean Energy Alliance is a group of business incubators around the United States that mentor clean energy entrepreneurs and provide various other services.   www.cleanenergyalliance.com

Clean Cities is a Department of Energy sponsored program that promotes alternative fuels and transportation technologies with informative factsheets that can be found at: www.eere.energy.gov/cleancities

The Procurement Techncial Assitantance Centers (PTAC) are federally funded centers placed throughout the United States to assist small businesses in navigating through the federal procurement process.  The link to Alabama's PTAC website is:  http://al-ptac.org/.  The PTAC office for North Alabama is located at the University of Alabama Huntsville.  Information on the North Alabama PTAC office can be found at:  http://sbdc.uah.edu.
